Secreted Protein Therapeutics
Inpharmatica has used its proprietary knowledge of protein sequence/structure relationships, in combination with supercomputing capacity, to mine the human genome. A number of novel, secreted proteins have thus been identified. These sequences, representing potential protein therapeutics or novel drug targets, are now being developed in collaboration with Serono SA.
This relationship was initiated in July 2001, expanded in January 2002, and extended further in July 2003. Inpharmatica has received a number of success-milestone payments as these novel human secreted proteins are developed for the marketplace according to Serono’s key biological validation criteria.
